It’s Giving Season for MOVE: A Heartfelt Visit to Kuya Center

At the heart of Managed Outsourced Virtual Employees (MOVE) is the mission to serve. This applies to our clients and employees but also to the wider community. As the giving season is upon us, MOVE decided to warm the hearts of a house full of children in Manila.

On December 18, 2023, the MOVE team headed to the Kuya Center for Street Children. Tucked away in the middle of the city, this institution serves as a haven for fifteen young boys who, despite their difficulties, exude optimism and fortitude.

MOVE came to these young people with the straightforward but meaningful goal of bringing them the joy of Christmas. The group made sure the boys would have a hearty meal on Christmas Eve by bringing supplies for a celebratory noche buena. Aware of the center’s needs, MOVE also donated other essentials including cookware, cleaning supplies, and educational supplies.

Giving Season

The kind donations and purchases of every item were made possible by MOVE’s virtual employees. Their readiness to combine their resources is indicative of a compassionate and positive workplace culture.
During the visit, feelings were running high, and Emman Alcantara, a recruiter at MOVE, captured the sentiment that was felt by many in a lovely way. He said, “It was quite touching to visit the boys’ orphanage, Kuya Center. Giving groceries and other necessities to these kids in need made a lasting impression on all of us. We were reminded of the tremendous worth of compassion and the significance of helping people in need by seeing their smiles and expressions of thanks. We will always treasure the humble experience that it was.”

This giving season, while we wrap presents and deck the halls, let’s pause to consider our community. Because when we give, we not only make other people happy but also experience the deep delight that comes from changing someone’s life.

May the story of MOVE and those like it encourage us all this Christmas to be lights of hope, love, and charity in our neighborhoods.
